Had a thunderstorm Friday night that blew down trees all over the place, and had one in our front yard here that lost it's top thirty feet. When it came down it just missed taking the power lines with it. Chain saw made short work of it all when we cleaned it up yesterday. Labor Day. That's what we did around here.
Fields are wet, and will be even wetter tomorrow after today's weather passes.
So far, mosquitoes are rarely seen (or felt), as we had the place sprayed earlier in the season. I can't imagine what the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (*****) would allow that could possibly be so effective, but we're had it sprayed for a few years, and it always seems to work for months thereafter. So far, so good.....
And that's all the news from your Northern Minnesota correspondent. Yes, even north of Lake Wobegone.

I have a 2001 Excursion 7.3., anyone here know where one can find a good powerstroke/alignment shop in the Santa Clarita, ca area who does quality work and who may also be economically friendly?
Thanks!

I never used him for anything, but he answered correctly all the obscure questions I could throw at him for both the 7.3 and Six-Oh!
Don't think he does alignments, but you can do that yourself if you are good with a mason's string-line and jack stands. That, of course, excludes the need to use off-set bushings, etc.

Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
Friday night of Memorial Day weekend, we headed out in the fifth wheel. Got as far as about Glendale, on the 210 at the 134 split where traffic slowed to a stop. All of a sudden, WHAM! Rear ended by a little BMW. He was navigating on his phone, and failed to see the 12' tall wall of white trailer *** in front of him.
Not too much damage, in fact his car barely had a black streak across it from our bumper. Our Cougar has a sliding cargo tray at the rear. The idea is that you pull a couple of hitch pins, and slide the tray out about 30 inches, and you can carry 200# of camping stuff. I think bicycles is the main idea, and it has some kind of riser thing that I think can be adapted to a bike rack. I've never like it or trusted it, and certainly never used it. In this instance I think it limited the damage, as the retainer bracket tore off the frame and let it roll inward a bit. Luckily no body damage and did not go so far as to touch the fresh water tank.
We were able to continue our trip after exchanging pleasantries. My insurance estimated the damage at just under $2k. Which I will pocket, because I've already repaired it to the point that is better than original, but it won't easily roll out anymore. Now it is a bumper, not a sliding cargo tray. Took me about 4 hours.

Funny thing, the morning after the accident we sat alongside the road in Bishop while I called our insurance company to report the incident. The rep was popping questions at me, and I was fielding them cleanly, until she asked what the plate number was on the trailer. And I drew a blank, and said I can get out and look, to which my dear wife replied, how could you forget that dear husband, it is LBS INN. Well she didn't state it so lovingly, but I'm certain that is what she meant.
