Rescued a '57 F350
Hello from Alabama...again!
I found a Ford F350 wrecker. The man who had it badly wanted my '70 Explorer("Old Blue"), so we swapped. I'm wondering if anyone might be willing to help me with the codes on the Serial Number plate.
Except for the wrecker body and the rear wheels, it's all original. Except for mirrors, an instrument cluster, and a key, it's all there. I have an instrument cluster coming from EBay, and Brian(proud new owner of "Old Blue") purchased valve-covers, gaskets, and a key/tumbler set.
I've provided pics!
Rick

Bill, thanks for the decode of my Serial Number! The truck is in it's new(temporary) home at a trusted local mechanic:
And I took a few other photos as well. I was digging around in the storage compartments and found the ignition key, which is a great find! We plan to drown the engine in Marvel Mystery Oil for a week or so, then very gently turn it over. If all goes well, then I'll replace all the fluids, change out the belts and hoses, and do a general tune-up. While that's going on my mechanic is going to rebuild the fuel pump and carberator to be safe. I hope to have more news in a few weeks!
I do wonder if anyone might be able to figure out the name of the old towing company?
