Hey new to the forum. So I have a 2005 6.0 with 200k it’s completly stock. We have never had a single problem with it and it shows no sighs of head gasket isuess at all. No pressure or smoke. I’m 17 and I want this truck to last. I’m taking it to a shop to get oil cooler, egr delete, cooliant filter, fuel spring upgrade, and sct tuner. I can not afford to take the heads off to do a full bulletproof but I was thinking about doing them one at a time cause it’s 1/3 the price. I know a lot of 6.0s have head problems and that I SHOULD do it the right way, but my question is will I have better luck doin the studs one at a time rather than just leaving them?

At 17, maybe you already have a good paying job???? If not, you may consider finding one!!! Just kidding.......in a seroius way.
IMHO...........if you can’t afford to do it right, anything else is just a waste of time and money. Good luck.
Are you asking if you can pull the head bolts out one at a time and change them to studs, without pulling the heads off and changing the head gaskets that have been sealed by the pressure of that bolt for 200k miles?
Honestly, man, if you have to ask if you could do it this way instead of "the right way", then you shouldnt even consider doing it.
Good luck with whatever you do. If I were you, I would think about going to school to become a mechanic that way when your 6L breaks, you can fix it.

Why do you want to tear a perfectly fine engine in half then? Just leave it alone and only fix the real problems. You'll cause more issues letting people rampage through the engine bay than if you just leave it alone.
Just monitor the sensors, when something gets out of allowable values, fix it. Why does it need a tuner now?? If you want the truck to last, a tuner is probably not the best thing. Perhaps a FICM tune for some more power if needed.
If you want to do your heads then run a PCM tune and increase the cylinder pressure to speed up the process. I know your going to want to tune it but this is the time you learn self control and keep the SCT tuner in the glove box. You need to start reading the tech folder in the 6.0 forum and familiarize yourself with what you have. In other words leave the heads alone until it’s time to have them done. Mine has 185k on the stock TTY bolts and have no signs of gasket issues.
