2001 and 2016 Bed Compatible?

2001 and 2016 Bed Compatible?
I just pulled a tonneau cover off my 2016 F-250. I have a buddy with a 2001 F-350 that could use it. Are the beds compatible? I know there's a whole span of years where the beds are the same or at least close to the same, I just don't remember what those are.

The top edge of the tailgate is different, not sure when, but I think when the body changed with the 6.4. I bought a used Retrax cover off a 6.0 truck and it fit, but depending on your cover, the problem would be at the top of the tailgate. Some covers seal on the inside edge, some on the top. If yours seals on the inside you should be fine.
