HUD?

Anyone try an after market HUD? (Head Up Display). It would be nice to have one that could link up with Torque Pro, some link with your smartphone so it may be possible. I don't know enough about them to be sure, maybe one of our tech guys will try one. Between a tablet running TP, a phone, gauges, touch screen head unit and now looking into a TPMS there is a lot of stuff requiring a glance away from the road.

You can experiment with your phone or tablet. There are apps that allow your phone to project on the windshield.

I don't know if there is a way to intergrate TP data though.

Torque pro has or used to have a setting that mirrored the screen to do this. I tried it with my tablet laying on the dash but it was not bright enough to see in the daytime on the winshield. I may try it again with different color schemes to see if it works better.

Generally, reflecting off US safety windshields is problematic. They reflect with a double image and are not bright enough. Most HUD units come with a cling that counteracts the double image and helps with the washout from the sun.

I am using a device (I can't remember what it's called ATM) that has a platform for your device and a flip up panel for reflecting the mirrored image. It works decently well, it is no panacea though. I will try to dig out the info on it.

I saw some that have a flip up panel that the image seems to be projected on, rather than onto the windshield. I believe this is how the Hudly works. Since my first post I found some you tubes of guys running TP on a HUD. They were not Powerstrokes though, just some ricers.
