I am trying to choose between two vans, both are E350's in the longest wheelbase. One is a 1991 and the other is a 1994, so they are two different body styles.
Are there any other differences between these two vans other than the way they look? for instance, do the newer models have an upgraded braking system, or other advantages (or perhaps there is an advantage on the older body style about something).
Just trying to make an informed decision.
thanks in advance,
ray
Pretty much down to personal preference on which style van you like better. I own one of each ( 89 & 96 ) , I personally like the older style better. Others like the newer style. Check both out, drive both and see which you prefer.
There are some differences, but nothing that makes a major advantage of one over the other. The older style has king pins in the front I-beams and the newer style has ball joints. My 96 has a driver's side air bag and rear anti-lock brakes, my 89 doesn't. But to me those are just more parts to fail.
What are the drivetrains? Inside creature comforts? Think they switched to R134 in '93 or '94? Interior quality? Exterior quality? With the '91 and '94 your looking at the same motor family. OBD-1 on both. Same transmissions. Should both be dana 60. What gear is in each? Mechanically not much difference if they are identically outfitted.
