Is anyone outthere able to tell me why companies keep telling me that full length headers won't work on a '94 f-150 with 5 speed man? i'm replacing my I6 with a 302 and would like to put a set of headers on it. partly for power, and partly because both manifolds i got with the engine are cracked. any reasons why they wouldn't work would be more than i have right now! tahnks in advance.
I think it has a lot to do with not modifying the factory exhaust because it has emissions junk like O2 sensor & cats. I think you can get full length headers for 80-86 trucks, these should be able to clear the body & frame ok, only thing to check clearance is the hydraulic line to the clutch, and by the fuel filter/pump on the driver side of the frame.
i plan on running a full aftermarket exhaust, (no cats, sshhh), and it will all be custom bent. will the everything still run smooth if i remove the o2? i know that you can buy collectors with o2 fittings, so would these be a good idea? sort of nieve to emmision junk. any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. sounds good so far though...
