Grand Design 5th wheel...What percentage off Msrp?

Maybe I am too **** with picking over details, but would never want to get a hitch off of a program or offer from a salesmen as a "feebie". If it was offered I would research before making any commitments - even if it was a deal presented as a particular set of terms right that instant and that they may not be the same when you think things over. If the hitch that was offered was acceptable to my criteria after research, that is one thing. If it is just "thrown in the deal" to make a sale without much knowledge - no way.

I do not have a Grand Design but a lot of good information here.
Grand Design Owner's
I think that 25% is good 30% is better and 35% is great. You will always find someone who did better.
Most important is that you are happy with what you end up with.

All brands can be found at 35% off if you are willing to travel to the right high volume dealer who knows he will never see you again after the purchase. Locals don't want to do it because warranty work pays poorly so they overcharge up front to cover their tech's hourly rate on the inevitable warranty repairs in the first year of ownership. I'm one who chose to travel for my buy and got about 37% off. I'm handy and did many of the repairs myself. When something was too big for me to handle, I brought it back to the plant to have it taken care of there. I realize this isn't an option for many buyers or with some brands though. It did save me $9700 off the best price my nearest local dealer would offer me so I found it to be a worthwhile exchange.

To counter what Rodney said a bit, I got that 32% off from a dealer an hour from home that has had nothing but good service after the sale. Good dealers are out there that will work on both the service and sales sides. We intend to order a new 5th next fall, and any brand my current dealer carries is at the top of the list....................luckily they carry Grand Design and Grand Design is at the top of the list anyway. I won't buy the new one for any less than 30% off MSRP either.

RVTrader.com is your friend. It allows you to shop all over the nation, find the best prices, and then use that a reference for more local shopping.
As Rodney said, it also allows you to buy if you're willing to travel.
We bought our Vengeance four hours from home but saved over $5000 by doing so.

I emailed them the build I wanted and its price from a dealer in Ohio. Told them to see how close they could get. Took a bit of haggling back and forth, but they came within a grand and saved me a 12 hour road trip. I felt it was worth it to stay local at that point.

That's the same thing I did Scott. They came in at $9700 more than OH and wouldn't respond to any further calls or emails when I told them the price difference. I'm talking complete radio silence. Not an excuse, negotiation, or anything. Just a silent FU... Apparently, they weren't interested in the fact that I did my homework.... LOL Same thing happened to my on my last RV which is why I had to drive for it. Same thing happened on the one before that too. Local dealers in my area won't even talk to you if they know you want a fair deal. Three in a row of different brands sold at different in state dealers is a pattern around these parts.
