I'm a recent member of Ford Truck and have a question
concerning my 2000 PSD Excursion. After inspecting the
exhaust sytem I noticed I don't have a cat conv. Is this
normal for all PDS's of that year or has mine been bleesed
with a little modification? The exhaust system appears to be
stock looking to my untrained eye, 3"? off the turbo and
up to 3 1/2" before the muffler. Thanks for any feedback.
i dont think any of the psd came with catalytic convertors from 99-03. And the beauty of that is, if it didn't come with one from the factory you're not required to have one by law.
if the inspector can prove that your truck came from the factory with a catalytic convertor than you will be required to get a new one and have it inspected or pay the fine and chance your luck
The sticker under the hood of my truck say's "non-catalyst"
so it appears to me that the truck came from the factory
that way, but my father-in-law has a 2002 PSD 3/4 T F-250
that had a cat. Luckily I live in an area that does not test
for emissions yet.
Originally posted by ColtM4 If my memory serves me correctly, the PSD superduties with auto trannies do not have a cat, the manual PSD's have a cat. I have a 6 sp and a cat.
I have a 6 spd., but mine came from the factory w/o a cat.
