removing cats
I was wondering if i could remove the cat's off of my 95 with a 351? Could i just cut them off or how could i gut them? There is a pipe from bassani but it says it is an x pipe. I would love if that was what it is but if not a catless y pipe would be fine with me. My dad said something that he heard along time ago that if you ran a tank of leaded gas through it would burn out the cats. Would this mess things up. The whole reason i want to do this is the truck has a 40 series flowmaster and it isn't loud at all. I know this is bad for the enviroment. And i don't have to worry about any emmissions test.

Have you considered leaving the cats alone, removing the muffler, and running a larger (2.5" or 3") diameter straight pipe with no muffler? This would keep you legal, and may get you the tone you're looking for. You may never get checked, but it would be a shame to destroy two good cats and then possibly need to replace them someday....

Personally, I would cut the cats out, remove the exhaust manifolds, put on full length headers with true duals (2 1/2") running through two Flowmasters, exiting under the rear bumper. That should give you the sound that you're looking for.

I would do that but i can't bend the pipes. That is what i have really wanted to do all along but i went out to a local muffler guy and he said that he wouldn't do that so i guess there is nothing i can do about it

First off, Removing the cat's is totally illegal no matter what state you live in. Its covered under federal law, not state.
Second, why not replce them? I have a new y-pipe and a 3" cat and it really opened-up the exhaust. I ended up putting a big muffler on there to keep it quiet through my neighborhood, but it would definitely be loud as hell if I didn't.
Think about the 3" cat instead.

Y-pipe is $75 from catco
Cat is $90 from JC Whitney
Other connections are local pieces.

Even though removing cats is illegal by federal regulations, the regulations are policed by local inspectors and not only vary from state to state, but from county to county within the state according to the pollution demands outlined by the state. While the federal regulators inspect the inspectors, they do not penalize them for adhering to the local minimum smog laws.
I'm not sure what the problem is in bending the pipe and making a dual exhaust. I put full length headers on mine and my exhaust guy took 2 1/4" pipe, crossed the driver's side pipe over to the other side (because of my dual gas tanks) under the tail shaft of the tranny into a small cat in each pipe. From there I decided to use the Flowmaster dual in, dual out muffler instead of two mufflers side by side. I came out of the muffler and bent one pipe back over to the driver's side before the rear axle and the exhaust exits under the rear bumper.
