window and vent issues,missing bracket

I just got an 87 F250 4x4 Ext cab and sorting through what repairs I'lI need to make.The drivers door skin has a crack in the top right under the triangle vent window.I noticed also that as I roll up the window it pushes the door out.I replaced the regular window weather strip inside and out because it was toast.

I'm wondering if there is something missing that pushes the door skin out? I welded the crack this morning with a mig welder thinking maybe once the crack was fixed it would be more stable.I also noticed that in order for the vent weather strip to do anything the window must be up all the way with slight pressure...this pushes door skin out.Maybe window regulator bad?Its not a huge deal but seems odd, passenger side doesn't do it but probably used much less over the last 30 years.

So I figured maybe I'm missing some sort of inner door bracket that would push out door skin and keep it taut at the top.

Any ideas...I could probably make something but thought I would check here first.
