Guys I was going to order the OEM flaps but didn’t like the look of them on the Ford build your own
website. But recently I’m seeing trucks on the dealer lots with what look to be much nicer mud flaps. Please see pictures attached. The ones on new trucks appear to look really nice. Can anyone confirm if Ford did change flaps and who supplies them now? Like Husky etc? If Ford makes them then how do they compare to Husky and or Weathertech?
The ones that came on the front of my F450 were junk. Both were torn in less than a year, and I don't offroad. If the ones for the SRW are the same rigid fibrous material, I wouldn't get them. My Gatorbacks are expensive, but much better.
I bought some OEM flaps from my local dealer and returned them right away. The material was cheap and I didn't think they would stand up to the elements that well. I think I will be purchasing a pair of the Gatorbacks.

ok thanks for the feedback. will check into the gatorbacks then.
I got the Ford flaps from Fairway Ford on eBay for a good price. One year later through a winter on the NY/Canada border they're going strong.
Pretty sure they were $30 cheaper than the option price.
My OEM mud flaps had about 1.5" of heavy, caked on mud. Just for giggles I kicked one kind of hard. Hard enough to make the dried mud come off. That worked so well I did it to the other three. I'm sure the gas station wasn't real happy to see my pile of dried mud on the concrete. I felt kind of bad about that.
My take is that the OEM mud flaps are tougher than I thought.
I think they looked way better than I expected just not sure how they would hold up. The older style of the smooth and slightly rounded looked horrible to me like the ones on the Ford build your own truck website. This is why I was surprised to see some trucks on dealer lots with much better looking flaps. I'm still not exactly sure if I order new ones on my truck which ones will actually come on it though.
I installed a F&R set of Weathertech splash guards on our 2017 F350, and a new set for our soon-to-be-delivered 2019 F350 arrived yesterday.
Very happy with appearance, fit, installation, price, and Weathetech customer service.

Gee, I'm going backward Jim. Should have a 1987 F250 being delivered in the next week to 10 days. Will mostly have it hooked to the business trailer and save many miles on my 2017. Should be a real miser with a 460/4 speed manual!
I guess that old dog will get the old fashioned flat, screw attached mud flaps.
I installed the gatorbacks (got them from an internet vendor not the stealership as they couldn't match the price nor did they have the stainless inset I wanted). So far they have held up very well, think rubber and hold a lot of goop with out any issues! My only issue is that I wish they were longer in the back to protect my 5er front better. I also got the mounting bracket/flap combo and it was very easy and straight forward.
Good luck making your decision....took me a bit too.
I ended up taking them off just because I like the look of the truck without them (they may end up going back on though) , but the ones that came from Ford on my 2019 are pretty nice with quite a bit more coverage than other OEM ones that I've seen before.
