When changing the shocks yesterday, I noticed that my truck looks as if someone removed the anti-roll/sway bar from the suspension. It could be that F350 SD XLT didn't have one but I'm not sure. Does anybody have an XLT with this installed, and if so, have a pic of the system? Thanks.
My 99 F350 doesnt have a rear sway bar or even a place where one looks like it could go. I'd say they just figured it's not really intended for anything other than hauling and towing.
It goes around the center section and has two little mounts on the frame where holes are drilled already from the factory. If it wasnt there you wouldn't even know where it bolted up too, and the 99-04 super duty had massive sway bars compared to the ford ranger sized ones on the 05 up trucks
Mine came with one. I think my truck came with the camper package so got a rear sway bar but don't quote me on that. The bar is attached to the rear axle housing with u-bolts and clamps. There are not mounting plates on my rear axle housing like there are on the front axle housing.
I'm fairly sure that mine originally had one. The mounts are there on the axle, but no linkages on the frame. I don't notice any body roll with or without the trailer, but at some point, I will upgrade to a fifth-wheel and may want one again. My guess is it was removed for added ground clearance.
You can see the lower mount opposite of the shock mount.
Sorry SDS, if you look at the pic, you can see the place where the mount is. There is one for the other side too. If I can't find an OEM, I will likely go for an aftermarket.

If you look at the exact same spot on my frame rail as in the one that does have one, there isn't even a hole for one to be attached. I also have the camper package.
That's a picture of the frame behind the axle. The end link attaches to the frame in front of the axle.
Go to a junk yard and pull one off a 4wd f250 or f350 srw truck. I wanted one for my 2004 and buying new even online was outrageous, I just never went and pulled one from the junk yard yet
If you get one buy aftermarket because the oem unit is so flimsy I really don't see how it helps much
My experience differs. The rear anti-sway bar on my truck measures 1-3/16 inches. I believe it was factory installed as part of the camper package. Definitely not flimsy and it makes a huge, positive difference. I also have an anti-sway bar on the front which I assume is also from the factory.
