Aligning the steering wheel
OK! I screwed up! I installed a new steering box and foolishly skipped the step telling me to secure the steering wheel at the 12:00 position and now I am stumped. Using a very light touch I can turn the wheel clockwise until I can feel the clock-spring start to tighten making sure not to overdo it. So My question is, how many turns back counter-clockwise to center things. what position is the top of you steering wheel at when you are hard right?
This is on a 2000 F-350 PSD
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Drop the steering shaft in the cab there’s a 13 mm pinch bolt that uses red locktite. My truck was turned too much over when replacing mine with a used unit I just unwound the clock spring 2 rotations than 3 as (using the steering wheel) a trial and error. On the final go I secured the bolt proplerly. Prior to this my steering wheel free spun accidently while being towed (broke the clock spring) so this happened during the repair. The final result was a working not overwound clock spring that would bind then turned all the way.
