After pulling the intake and battery back out to access the HCU, I tested it. The bore closest to the master cylinder is rising up when the brake pedal is applied and the other bore towards the front of the vehicle stays down under pedal pressure. So I guess the HCU is not doing it's job. Do these bores control the left and right front or the front and back calipers? Any idea on fixing or buying another unit?

What was throwing me off with this is that I was never getting the ABS light on the dash which lead me to the master cylinder...

Today I picked up an HCU unit. Do I need to remove the electric control module on the side of the pump and install the one off my old unit? I have read it may set a code since it talks to the PCM.

For those that need reference later, the new (used) HCU fixed the issue! I did not have to swap the electric control module. The brake lines did need a little persuasion going back in place. Very little air came out when I bled the system again.
