Don't know about you, but the OEM horn that came with my 17' F-350, sounds like it belongs on a Yugo or something similar. Really don't want a compressor driven train horn, but looking for a decent sounding horn that will bolt on and replace the wimpy OEM. Any suggestions out there?
I'm with you on that. I used my horn the other day for the first time and I actually thought it was broken because I could barely hear it. Sounded like wussy horn. hell my old f150 was 3 times louder.

They are wired in parallel with the factory horns and mounted at their location behind the grill... I regret not taking any pictures during the installation, & prefer not to remove the grill for a photo shoot. It was relatively easy using the brackets that came with the horns, but does require removing the grill to gain access to the horns...
Funny thought - my uncle who was a train buff, got a big *** air horn from a locomotive, it was about 3 feet long. He lived on a large lake ( Lake Vermillion in MN ) , when he died & his funeral - we hooked up the horn to a air compressor, talk about loud...
My horn started out working well, but a short while ago I had the same issue and took the truck in to get it checked out. Turns out that one of the two tones produced from the horn was not working. The horn was not available in stock (as usual), so after a 2 week wait for the replacement part to arrive, the truck is in today to have the horn replaced.
I haven't used the horn in a vehicle I own for at least the last 20 years, and probably longer than that. I don't think I've even heard someone else's horn for a long time, with the exception of some idiot hitting the panic alarm by accident.
What do you use a horn for?
Is it a localized thing, like certain area of the country, or some other situation that I must never find myself in?
I only use mine when someone jumps in front of me when they are within 6 feet and i'm going faster than they are. (interstate speeds)
I don't know if its just where I live, but it happens almost regularly. My SO thought i was making **** up, then the same thing happened to her about a week ago while I was a passenger.
Does this happen to other dually drivers? I figured it was just because they can't see around the truck.
The F150 trucks 2015+ get Fiamm 72112 and the Fiamm 72102 as standard equipment. These are marked as such, not sure why the Superduty trucks are different.

Well, traffic out here in SoCal can be a PITA so people like their horns
My 2019 horn is very loud so Ford must have changed something since this thread was started. I am always double tapping my horn at people that just sit there when the light turns green. Sometimes I get the finger and I just wave at them like I know them. Most just floor it only to get back on their phone at the next light.
