145” WB and 4x4

Just to give you a heads up...my local ford dealer installed a factory brake controller on my 2016 f-150 for under 200 bucks

Okay so that puts you at 10,700 max if this is a 2018? However your payload will determine true towing. Because a 10,700 trailer would require a 1,700 pound payload which isn't possible. The 8000 pound trailer may actually be pushing the limit. What's your payload?

I tow a 5,300lb (dry weight) travel trailer, I estimate it at about 6,000# loaded. I would not want to tow it without a trailer brake controller. IMO if you have axle brakes you should be using them. Possibly it's the law? I bought an aftermarket controller with plug and play harness that took 5 minutes to plug in and 5 more to mount. Was $70 shipped from etrailer.com
You should be fine towing that with a proper weight distribution/ sway control hitch.

The factory controller is the best option, by the part and install it yourself. Takes 5 mins and activate it with forscan. Cost is under 90.00

Get it from Tasca Ford online or E bay store. Forscan is a great program and it's free, do some searches. There is way to much for me to explain in a single post. It's a truly versatile must have tool.

It's a computer program that you load onto a laptop, that plugs into your obd2 port. Go here and read, read and read. A ton of info.

My question is my travel trailer weight 8000 lbs fully loaded. I’m looking for a F150 with towing up grade package and that has max payload capacity? This truck is like looking for damn unicorn lol

A truck with heavy payload and max tow is going to be a special order. It also limits you on options and trim and is best suited to XL trucks.

You can get a 7850 GVWR and max tow. Have your dealer run a trace and look at inventory. I was able to get my 2018 with max tow and heavy payload package frame out of dealer stock. You have to look at 157" wb trucks. The 145" trucks don't have the ability.
