Hello, I was looking under the dash at the headlight switch and noticed this, what I assume is a capacitor, mounted onto the parking brake braket, sharing one of the bolts. It wasn't hooked up to anything so I pulled it off to take a couple pictures. My question is, what is it? and Should I put it back? I couldn't find any mention in the shop manual, have yet to look in the parts catalog. Thanks for your time.
Best I can read it says "CORNELL-DUBILIER MC9C00" "202043 .5MFD100VDC"

Yes, that would be a .5 microfarad capacitor. If your truck has (had) a radio, it might have been to reduce the spark noise in that. But I really don't know.
Not a Ford item. Usually radio noise supression capacitors are attached to electrical components such as generators, coils and voltage regulators. Last time I checked, the E-Brake isn’t electric. I would file it under “un-necessary”.
When I was swapping the horn relay I noticed another capacitor, same type hooked up, I think to this box with that connector. Not sure what either are, would appreciate the help. I don't have an antenna but there was a hole in the roof and a few screws suggesting something was mounted up there before, not that I'm sure that's related at all.
Thanks for your time. Capacitor on left, relay? on right
