Frame switch?

Hey guys! So I have a 77 Ford f100. Well I blew the engine and am looking to switch over to a 6.9 Diesel engine found in the 80s Ford F-350. My question is can I just keep the 7.3 and tranny on it’s orignal 86 frame and just move the body from my 77 over to the 86 frame? Or are the dimensions just too different? This would be the cheapest way for me to go as I have access to the 7.3 and 5 speed. Don’t really want to get another 300 i6. Thank you for all your help!

I put an 85 longbed on a 70's highboy a long time ago, I remember it as being pretty straight forward.
