Rear end,
Hello , I just joined, and I am looking for a used rear end for a 2001 Excursion limited, V10, 4wd, found one local for $500.00, Mechanic says every year is different, 2001 has it's own rear end, is that true or will other years fit, I live in NW Alabama, appreciate any imput, thnx Marty.

Not sure what your mechanic is talking about every year being diffrent, they are even the same as the F250.
the one odd ball is some of the 2000 rears that have the brake calipers on both the front and back side of the wheel.
any year can have diffrent gear ratios and limited slip differentials depending on how the vehicle was ordered. The most common ratio is 3.73
