2005 E350 15 passenger extended body van, 5.4 gas engine.
Would like to relocate the Restraint Control Module from under the drivers seat for additional storage space in an already-crowded front cabin area. It would not be moved further than its factory wiring harness would allow, just a simple relocation.
Is this advisable and/or acceptable relative to its function? If I wanted to extend the wiring harness length (with proper wire splicing techniques) would that be acceptable and not affect the RCM's function?
This isn't a huge issue but since I'm in-process of building out the interior as a work-only truck now's the time to do this.
I agree Frank-----this van will be down a few weeks for new engine so I'll move it and see if any codes pop up. Worst case I'll have to put it back in it's original spot.
