Hey guys wanted to know if anyone knows where to get a replacement interior light cover for a 1979 Ford f150 lariat. I'm talking about the light in the middle of the cab above the rear window. I accidently put a hole through the white light cover that is over the bulb. The thing was really brittle and just broke all apart.
When I bought my truck, mine had a hole in it. I took it off, and the whole middle discentegrated. I run it now with no cover, and it doesn't bother me...
Happens all the time to the older light covers. The last one I replaced was a transplant out of another less chronologically challenged scrapyard vehicle. I just installed the entire fixture.
Thanks for the replies. I didn't know if Autozone or Advanced auto had replacement light covers that would fit. Finding these old Ford trucks in salvage yards around here is becoming more difficult.
You might want to also look into getting an entire new aftermarket fixture. There are plenty of them available these days in auto parts stores for just about any application. I took the hard route (as I tend to do) and made my own
Mine crumbled into pieces a few years ago. I was able to get one at the local Ford Dealership parts department. I don't know if Ford still make them or not now but they did then.
