heellooo there.
just got my first SD with the 7.3 (2000) but can't figure out where to spend all my money first. all the talk is about the new programmers but i am not sure what makes more sense. chip and a banks transcommand or just the programmer? does the programmer do sufficient upgrades to the E4OD compared to what i have read about the transcommand? any input on brands for chips/programmers would be helpful. i have searched the forums for info and only found that it is making the decision harder. seems the chips need to be custom burned per application to do it right and the programmers aren't the perfect fix either. they seem to sometimes make the trannys shift worse and sometimes better. woe is me.....
also i had a 92 f-150 and the rancho kit seemed to be for that series of truck but not spoken much on the SDs. i have a line on a rancho 4" kit with leaves for both axles, brake lines and dropped arm. thought that would be a nice kit and to go with the bilsteins and 315 pro comp T/As any input?
i guess i am not really looking for responses from people that liked their purchases but rather ones that wished they had gone with a different manufacturer or style. but any feedback would be appreciated. thanks in advance!

If you do ANY performance mods to the engine you need at least an EGT and tranny temp gauge.

For the motor:
-first get a set of gauges....pyro, boost, and trans temp....I like my ISSPRO gauges.
-upgrade the intake.....AFE Magnum Force or Tymar are good.
-Exhaust....from the turbo back.
-Chip......
-Depending on how much power you put down you will want to upgrade your 4R100 trans.

List could go on and on if you wanted more.....
-complete fuel system upgrade (I might be getting this shortly)
-aftermarket turbo
-IDM mod
-injectors
-etc..etc...etc...

For the lift:
I've had the 4" Rancho on my SD for the last 14k miles..........and I don't like it at all. I do believe that the 5100s would help the ride...but I'm changing out the whole lift any way since I want to go taller.
A buddy of mine has an 8" Edge that rides way better than my truck.........that's what I'm going with next time.

I wish I had found a site like this or a good shop when I first did the truck so that I wouldn't have basically wasted my money..........but it did cause me to do a lot of research on suspensions so that I would get the best in the future so that I'd be real happy with it.

Hope this helps.
