Got this 2014 Lariat crew a week ago. Keep whacking my head on the roof getting in, would love to have a handle on the left w/s pillar. Was it an option, Raptor, KR, Platinum whatever? Is the w/s pillar the same as on the 15-18 trucks? They seem to have them. Any help appreciated, I'll paint one that isn't black like mine. Anyone got a 2014 w/handle & round speaker in it, I can order one off your VIN.
EDIT NOTE: Appears newer models have an air bag in them, that's why different speaker position
sibernut ... would love to have a handle on the left w/s pillar. Was it an option, Raptor, KR, Platinum whatever?
Was discontinued with the gen'12 F-150s (2009-2014) and reintroduced in 2015.

No, not the same. Nor would an A'pillar trim with grab handle from (say) a gen'12 F-250 or gen'11 F-150 2004-2008) fit | work.
All that being said ... a Ford F150 Forum member did retrofit a 2015 A'pillar grab handle and with some fabrication and $$$$$ made it work.

*I miss my pillar grab handle badly.... beginning @ post #48

The Safety Canopy® System with Roll-Fold Side-Curtain Airbags and Rollover Protection(of which the A'pillar airbag is a component of) was introduced in the gen'12 F-150s (2009).

Well, I see pillar trims for sale on ebay for a 2014, and none of them have an air bag. That's why they moved the speaker to the bottom.
So if I understand your post, a 09-12 WILL have a handle. I'll search for that. Or, I'll buy a pass side, flip it over & splice it on. Do you know if the 14 will have the attaching points in the left pillar?
OK, scuse my stinkin' ignorance. But my speaker (Lariat ) is NOT at the bottom of the trim, it is about 8" up and round. To get back to the subject, I see A pillar trims available with a handle like mine left side for SUPER DUTY models 2011-2016 on Ebay. So is the SD A pillar different from the 150 ? No, it does not have the round speaker like mine does, otherwise looks same as my RH side handle.

IMO, more bottom than anywhere else on the panel ...

The F-250's (a.k.a. Super Duty) A'pillar is unlike the same year/period F-150's - angle, length, etc..

Would probably require the Lariat (or above) model with the optional premium sound system. Though for sure.

Tks for the help & pointers. I'm going to look at a 2012 SD in a yard, if it's not a Sony like mine (& your picture), I'll splice it on neatly if reasonable enough. Prob right over the top of my trim & cut bolt holes, 1 neat cut above speaker.
Those of you who said a Super is different were correct, much longer pillar. My experience has been w/ older F series, were all the same. I grabbed a handle from a 2005, looks similar but not quite perfect. I'll see if it will splice on w/o messing w/ the air bag.
I don't understand how you plan on getting this to work...
My passenger side has two bolts that hold it in place to help support the handle being pulled. My driver side is just clips and they do not take much to pull them out. All vehicles that I have owned that had a driver side had it to where the a-pillar bolted on to help support the weight.
Edit* I see you do plan on adding nut/bolt holes from two posts prior. I just don't see this working out well and how it won't interfere with the air bag system.
Doesn't look like I can make the OEM style work w/o obstructing the air bag. Gonna' drop back & punt, get a handle that mounts behind the air bag kind of like the one in the back seat. Slide the part for the bolts under the bag & trim the A pillar molding around it. Not giving up yet
