Problems with A/C

My a/c will intermittingly stop blowing cold air. I can accelerate and run up the rpms and it will start blowing cold again. Sometimes I only have to do this once and other times I have to do it multiple times before it will quit cutting out. Then sometimes it'll run all day without any issues. The clutch air gap is .037. I was leaning towards the orifice valve and dryer.........but all the information I've been able to find over the internet describes different symptoms when talking about the orifice valve and dryer. I've checked the connections at the compressor (the best I could......not easy to get to) and the fan. One thing I did notice yesterday on the SGII.......the FSS at idle with the a/c on was at 3400+ when in the past its been 700 - 1400 and at 70mph it ranged well above 3400..........once I thought it went above 6000 (was drive during this observation) with the a/c blowing snowballs. Then it started to blow slightly warm air with the FSS at 1300+ and dropped to just over 900 for a few minutes then the FSS went to 1500+ and it began blowing cold. About 15 minutes after this.........it stopped blowing cold air with the FSS at 1500+ and dropped to 1300+. Had to accelerate and few times to get it to stop dropping out......once the FSS reached 1600+ it began blowing cold all the way home (15 minute drive at 70mph). Could the fan be my problem or just coincidence? Hoping to get some insight before taking to the shop
