Howdy All,

I was about to wash my truck this morning and noted a small patch of "dirt" on the front slope of the roof. Went to flick it off and damn if a silver dollar size chunk of paint just flicked right off. As it is now (see pic) I could flake off more so there's some serious adhesion issue.

Is this a common issue with the 2012's?

Guess I need to shop around for someone to paint my roof . . .

I have a 2012 silver ford, same issue (paint hood flaking). Currently working with ford to see if they will provide assistance to fix. I have seen several of the silver fords with same issues!

 

I did go to Ford but they almost laughed at me. Right now the size of the flaked area is at least twice the size in the pic above.

I literally have the exact same spot missing! Going to try and paint myself...any thoughts or suggestions?

 

A good body shop should be able to spot and blend, then clearcoat the roof. until the next piece flakes off. Good luck.

 

Thank you for the response, I am currently teaching myself how to do this for fun I bought a door and hood from pull-a-part.
