i have a mild street 302 with a 280 duration cam. it lopes pretty good but i think it needs a stall or a manual transmission. i am not sure what the motor is going in so i don't know what tranny setup i will use. if in a truck it will be either a c6 or c5 or fmx. if it is going in a car it will have a manual or an auto. leaning toward a manual though. anyways, what stall speed does anybody recommend for this setup i think i am going to get 3.50 gears. i want off the line power and acceleration. 474 ex. lift

easiest way most do there stall RPM's is by what RPM the cams power band. like if your cam starts it's power band at 1500RPM's they'll install a convertor with a stall speed of 1500RPM's. so when they launch they are at the cams power band raither then launching having to go til it's able to build to that RPM. then again it depends on what ya plan to do with the truck/car when ya drop the motor into it. you can probably contact the tech support of your cams maker and tell them the plans you have with it, they should be able to tell ya they stall speed and gear ratio that'll work best.
