Rexing DashCam

Hey all. I took advantage of Prime day and landed a good deal on a Rexing DashCam. Below is the exact one I got (not at the prime day pricing, though). I'd really like to hard wire this thing to an always-hot fuse. Any advice or other forum posts that cover this? The power cable has plenty of length (as does the rear camera cable), but I don't want to tie up one of my cigarette lighter chargers to power the unit. Thoughts?

Thanks.

I used an add-a-fuse kit to a fuse that was always hot that I located via my owners manual. Very easy, painless install.

Hmmm....great idea. I think I'll head to O'reilly's and see if I can find one.

Thanks!

Don't tap into constant power, it will drain your battery. Use an auction switch.

If the cam has an auto off feature, like mine, then it wont be an issue. If it bothers you having it to constant power, then choose an ignition on fuse. If its hooked up to an aux switch, you run the risk of the switch accidently being turned off or you forget to turn it on when you get in the truck. both of which will result in not having the footage you need, should the need arise.

There is also an option to add a dedicated auxiliary dashcam battery ... https://www.blackboxmycar.com/collec...m-battery-pack

This is switching power but this how I run my valentine 1. (Ford-trucks link) You could cut the end off and connect through the radar power wire. (Amazon link)

Mine is wired for constant power. No issues in the last 8 months. DO have dual batteries though.

I wired mine constant after someone decided to bump and run in a parking lot.

I have this same camera, I haven't installed it in my newer truck though.

I just spliced it right into the back side of the cigarette lighter, done. EZ install. Routed the wires up the pillars and into the overhead. Turns on everytime the key does.

Would probably be easier to install to the upfitter switches in the new trucks, but my old truck didn't have em.

Its a great little camera btw

I use one of these on the rare occasion that I want to plug in an emergency light or stand alone GPS and still have the dash cam on.

Odd that your link takes you to eBay but the link shows an Amazon symbol.
I'm looking at a dash cam, good info.

The Rexing looks like a nice cam, but be careful of the version you order. The specific camera linked has no wifi capability so that you can view and control things with an app with a mobile device. There are other links within that page that show 3 wifi cameras from Rexing.
I have Swann cameras in the wife's car and my Mustang and a Transcend Drive Pro in my truck. So far so good with all 3. It's nice to view a larger video on iPad if I need to.

I really like the Rexing V1P model that includes a rear camera - but it doesn't look like that model has WIFI. The model that does have WIFI doesn't appear to have the rear camera. I value a front and rear view more than the WIFI, but I also don't fully understand the value add of having the WIFI. Can you explain all of the things I would be able to do with a WIFI system that I can't do without? And in your opinion do the WIFI capabilities outweigh the additional rear camera?
