Hey guys,
I bought a 1990 Bronco II and experiencing some strange noises. It makes a roaring noise and the vehicle "shutters" upon acceleration. This noise and feeling seem to go away once you hit highway speed, but that's replaced by another distinct noise - one that is more of a droning noise that comes from the rear of the vehicle. I've had the pinion gear replaced, as it was definitely needing it and helped to reduce the rear end noise, but even after it being fixed, this other noise remains. I don't know a lot about mechanics of autos, but wondering if I have transmission AND differential issues? Oh, when I put the vehicle in reverse, there is no roaring/grinding sound - only in forward motion.
McLeod,
Thanks for the tip. I'll check out the U-Joints today. I'll likely replace as precaution anyway. At nearly 30 yrs old, it can only make things better!
