1948 Coe swap

I need help, what kind of swap do you recommend for my project 1948 ford coe, ford ranger, crown vic? what dou you recommend?

I know some have used motor home chassis because little work is required for the steering.

I would look at a E450 Ford. Used a lot in the Para Transit field they are sold as surplus after 5 to 10 years. Some of the older ones had the 7.3 power strokes, stay away from the diesels after that. Fords own powerstroke being sold now was never offered in the E series. Most have the 6.8 V10 now.
You can look on a site called publicsurplus.com under small bus and find them almost any time. I happen to have a 48 f6 COE myself, (which I will not be getting to for a long time) the flathead is a snug fit in there so expect to do a lot of modifications to fit the cab down over the larger modern engines which are considerably larger.
