I have a 66 mercury 100 with the 240 6 cylinder. I bought a large lot of parts that all fit the 240 and 300. Included was a rebuilt distributor for the 300 that has no points. It has 3 wires and I wonder what else I need to add to swap over to this distributor.
You have a Duraspark it should have a part number on it somewhere if you post it I'm sure ND will know what it fit exactly. If you want to keep it all Ford you will need the Duraspark ECU and a wiring harness for it. You can get the harness from a donor if you can't find a new one. But if you don't mind using Mopar parts their ECU is better than the Ford and it makes a cleaner install. I've been using Mopar boxes with the Duraspark for years. This is a picture of the FBO box I'm using now. The reason I chose it is it has a built in rev limiter. Of course you would need a box for a 6 cylinder.
