P207F code and DEF issue
I called the dealer on the way back and gave them the information I had with the warning message and display. They told me to get it in but before I did I dropped by the shop and read the codes. I got a P207F code and then I took it to the dealer. That was last Saturday and they gave a loaner '18 F150 to drive until my truck was repaired.
Fast forward to this morning I went to check on the status and was told they haven't had time to check it yet. I didn't get angry with them but I did ask if I needed to take it somewhere else if they won't have the time to repair it. I got a call this afternoon from the shop and they told me the truck was ready. The service writer said after my visit she talked to service manager and they decided to take a look at it real quick. She told me that they only had to re-flash the pcm with a updated TSB
FWIW, during all this time I researched the 207F error and got so much information that I wasn't sure what was going to happen. I expected the service manager to tell me bad or low level def and that would be on me, I expected that somehow it would be my fault and I would have to pay for the repairs. That scenario didn't happen. They were cordial when I picked up the truck and explained about the TSB.
I was starting to get a little irate only in the fact that the truck has under 33k miles on it and already spent 10 days in the shop for a new HPFP. Then this happens less than 3k miles later. I even thought I may have caused the problem activating the display with FORSCAN. All turned out well.
I am only posting this because with all the data and horror stories out there about bad dpf sensors, bad def, bad modules all mine needed was a PCM update. I will try to post the pic of the service sheet I received.
Bottom line? Make sure this TSB has been performed on your vehicle before you have issues. I certainly wouldn't wanted to be on a trip and broke down over a simple software update. JMO
