Aero fuel capacity
Another weird thing with this truck is that the fuel gauge seems skewed, e.g., if it says 3/8 it is really more like 1/4 and 5/8 is probably about 1/2. Oh well, I have an E350 motorhome that will have 8 gallons left when the needle is solidly on "E."
When I was younger I read that the gages where suppose to be set so you can drive another 35 miles when they hit empty.
That way you could make it to a Gas Station.
But on the other hand I've seen cars that when they hit the E they're empty.
A sending unit with a bent arm or contacts starting to go bad could show a wrong reading.
But then again you'll have to pull the tank to get to it. When mine was bad before I replaced it, I just used the mileage meter.
I'd fill up. set it to zero and refilled at about 300 miles.
