This is my first foray into modding. I've ordered and received my Rough Country 8" led grill lights and I want to make sure I do this correctly the first time. Mounting the lights won't be the issue but I'm not an electrical guy so, I've got the upfitter switches and will be tying into switch 6,. Do I need to keep any of the relay and fuse that are part of the wiring harness that came with the lights or do I cut all that off and wire the hot to the upfitter and the ground to the battery? I know it should be simple but I don't want to mess anything up. And I have read other threads regarding the upfitter switches but I just need peace of mind before I haul off and do something.
If I remember correctly the upfitter switches are using fuses and relays. I cut all that off my HID Extra 30" light bar harness and just ran the positive wire to the #1 upfitter switch wire and grounded the other. Works fine. I think the manual shows the different load ratings of each switch.
