I have a 2013 F350 6.2l V8 with126,000 miles on it. Recently I've been getting a "Service AdvanceTrac" display followed by "Hill Descent Control Fault". Truck runs fine. I'm taking it to the stealership tomorrow and they are charging me $110.00 just to hook it up to diagnostics. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I love my truck. Thanks, Tim
There is a large (~30 pins) gray cam-lock electrical connector located under the dash near the parking brake pedal. Try disconnecting and reconnecting that connector. The network connections for the Restraints Control Module (RCM) go through that connector and it sometimes works just a little bit loose, which can be corrected by unplugging it and then reconnecting it. I had this issue several times on my 2015 and took it to the dealer twice, once where they replaced the RCM (under warranty) and I finally unplugged and reconnected that large connector and haven't had any issues since.
Great day for this thread. My '13 did it again today. Mine has done it three times now. But it has always disappeared on its own. But this morning, it took about 20+ miles. I hit a bump in the road and it turned off.
I'll try the connector next time. Thanks to you both.
