Count me as a sceptic. I won’t say never, but the smallest wheels I’ve seen on Snogos were 18”. Plus, these wheels have welded center discs which is a 1960s and later feature. My bet is they are Budd 66520s which would have been a common wheel used on Dodge motor homes and IHCs. If not for being horribly over priced, they would be a good set for one of our guys to use on an F-2 or F-3 M-H. But I don’t think any M-H guy I know needs them, and besides, they aren’t hard to find in yards. Stu
Yes, and I wonder how he got them. I can't imagine anyone scrapping a SnoGo . . . but that is just me. I'm sure that it happens. The ad appears to me IMHO rather fishy.
I had a guy call me a few months ago about a set of 17” M-H wheels. Might be the same guy. He didn’t identify them as Snogo, but sounded proud of them. Stu
Here's what looks like a complete 1942 Marmon Herrington Snogo in Alaska for $3500
I'm not even sure how i stumbled on it but here's the ad. It's not mine, I'm in PA. https://fairbanks.craigslist.org/cto...632066939.html
Not often do you see them complete with the auger, rear engine, and all the drive gear. Might be priced a little strong, but they all are. There is also one sitting in a yard near Des Moines, IA, that I stopped at last year. Doug’s in Pella, IA. Missing the auger, etc, but a nice project truck. Stu
So many of these are found with really low mileage. Airport duty was a real common use for them. That second picture really lets you see all the special modifications made to adapt the truck. Unseen is the underdrive auxiliary gearbox that teamed with the AWD to keep the rpm’s in the torque band. I don’t recall seeing the hydraulic lines mounted on the front fenders. Stu
I could be the only guy in Texas with one of those Snoglo things!!!
I wonder if it could chunk armadillos or something else useful - shredding cactus maybe.
102 degrees here today - thinking about snow makes me feel better.
