I'm nearing the end of my cab swap from a 2000 can to a 2008 cab. its been a bitch but I've gotten everything to work, lights, dash, engine, etc to work except the HVAC. I have a 2000 harness and I'm trying to mate the controls and harness from the 2008 to run on the 2000 wiring. I know it was a can system but it still breaks down to power and ground. I have the harness from the 2008 hooked to the blower motor and and the panel selectors. I need to figure out how to power it through the 2000
and I'm having no luck. any help is appreciated.
I've got the blower motor running now. I have actuate the mode door by jumping it. I need to figure out why there is no power in that circuit through the controller.
Wow, sounds like a pretty ambitious frankentruck exercise. I will add my 2 cents worth of knowledge, that knowledge being limited to your year 2000 AC system, wiring and control via PCM. Please read my thread located at: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ac-clutch.html .
My 1st post on this thread contains the wiring schematic. In my 1st post in this thread, attached PDF, notice how the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) supplies both the +12 VDC as well as ground to the AC Clutch relay. Soo the PCM has to make two (2) decisions/connections to get the stupid compressor spinning. In my case I wound up adding a slave SPST relay to automatically provide a ground to relay coil whenever the +12 VDC is made available by the PCM.
In your case I assume you are using the year model 2008 PCM so that really could make things complex, unfortunately I do no have the 2008 wiring schematic. So if it was up to me, I would totally wire around the PCM controlled relay, making the AC coil energization dependent only on: Manual control position, AC pressure being higher than lower limit switch and AC pressure being lower than the high pressure limit. Hope everything is reasonably easy to understand. Best of luck!
So again. Blower works. but i can't get the blend door or mode door to work with the 08 controls. I can manually trigger the actuators and they move back and forth freely. the wires coming out of the HVAC unit are not cut and I can trigger the actuators from the connector at the back of the controller but the controller will not send the signal. I must be missing something. Any help is appreciated. this is the 08 controller and the 08 HVAC harness.
Hopefully someone can provide the AC/Heater wiring diagram for the 2008 (2nd generation) SD.
Using that in conjunction w/ the 2000 (1st generation) wiring diagram previously provided will enable one to see the see how to make them work together.

I have both. I can't get them the blend door and mode door to work. No power going out of the unit to the mode door or blend door.
