I'm thinking of trading my 2013 FX4 for an F250 gas. Trouble is it seems like the discounts are near nil. Most I've seen locally is about 5 grand off a $55,000 and (much) higher MSRP. Not having looked at F250s before, what should I expect and is there a best time of year when discounts are the the highest? End of the model year I assume? To that point, I still see 2017s in stock new but with near equally low incentives. What gives?
Uh, yeah, you don't find to many deep discounts. Ford does not have to give their trucks away like dodge and chevy do. The usual price is right at invoice then you subtract any rebates or incentives.
I think they’re happy to wait for a buyer. If these trucks stopped moving so well I’m sure we’d see more incentives. $1000 under invoice was the best I could do on my 18. Add in the $1000 rebate and I landed at $2k under invoice. Wish I’d had one of those big PCO’s!
In that case the price I'm seeing is roughly consistent with what others are paying. I'm seeing discounts of less than $6,000 with a PCO for $2k for a total of $8k. I was hoping they were buying market share on F250s like they do on F150s. When I bought my F150 FX4 in 2013, I think I got between $13-$14k off the sticker with multiple discounts, finance with FMC, special trade-in-assistance deal ($1000), etc ... It took my $47k+ sticker to $34,000k believe it all or not. All but the extra $1,000 was independent of the trade-in so no hocus-pocus going on....

Don't knock it, the lack of discounts on sale keeps your resale value high.
Not much of a discount for sure. MSRP was 51k for XLT premium package.
Dealer dropped 1500 which was about the same as the shipping trans. fee.
Got 1k from Farm Bureau Insurance.
Did not know this happened but went to Ford.com and clicked my way through to my dealer looking for this one truck.
When I went to visit the dealer he told me I got a 1k dealer discount from the Ford website! There was NO indication that i noticed that just by visiting the website and drilling down to my local dealer there would be a 1k surprise!
Plus the 500 bucks for Ford finance. Pay for three months then roll over to my credit unions for a 1.25% drop in rates.
The Tundra got me 27.5k ( Truck was rear-ended by a kid texting, so lost about another 1.5k)
Out the door at 19.7k.
Will pick up this afternoon......
It's a 18' F250 FX4 6.2l.
Enjoy the shopping good luck with your future purchase.

I am working with dealers now on leftover 2017 Lariats. One has MSRP of 72,120 and has Ultimate package with adaptive cruise steering etc. Other is MSRP of 70,235 with ultimate package. I have the second dealer down to 59K which is 16% off. If I can get dealer#1 to 60,500 (same % off) I am pulling trigger on Truck#1
Got a 2018 Platium White Lariat Ultimate Diesel in April - only 1 in California with black leather, bench seat, 20" machined wheels, power steps, moon roof, BLIS, ultimate trailer cameras, upfitter switches, block heater, universal garage door opener, 3.55 electronic axle - Sticker $71270 - Paid, after adding in the Linex bed liner they threw in to do the deal, $65497 plus got a $1000 rebate. Net $64497 about $3400 below invoice - Got KBB trade $$$ on a 2014 RAM 2500. Dealer picked up the rig on a dealer trade. Got exactly what we wanted without having to place an order.
Seemed pretty fair.
Best part - having a truck that does not have to go the dealer for repairs every month...
The deals are out there. I just got a 2017 leftover on Monday...Lariat Ultimate with other options. MSRP was $70,250...I paid $58,500 OTD. Only had 4 miles on the truck! PLUS got a much higher trade in than what GMC offered me.
The equivelant 2018 they had on the lot was around $63K. PLUS TTT. So $65Kish OTD

This depends solely on how much the dealer wants to move the vehicle. Once it passes aged inventory status, the dealership gets a flat check for all the incentives currently available at that time for the vehicle. After that there is whatever Ford is offering on 2017s which varies heavily by trim. It's up to the dealership whether they want to stack those rebates to sell a truck at cost, or not. Most are still not doing it in my area, the discount on a 17 is about $3k more than the discount on an '18.
Great deal.
Did you roll any equity (positive or negative) into this deal?
What rebates did you use/get?
I did end up rolling equity into it, but it was not part of the deal. I think people really misunderstand that. I had a coworker trade in his car on a truck. And he was bragging he got a 2500HD for $50K out the door. Turns out that included the $13K he had in equity. I told him he got ripped off. He said how is $50K being ripped off? I laughed.
That would be like me saying I got my F250 6.7L Lariat for $35K, because with my trade, that's what it came to. But that $20K equity was my money, so it did not lower the price of the truck.
As far as incentives...I am not totally sure of the names. The MSRP was $70,250. I talked him down to a sale price of $64,500. I then got $6,000 in rebates. I know $1000 was for being military, $2000 was for financing with Ford (which I will be refinancing next week once the loan paperwork comes in), but the rest, I do not know.
