Ok, my bro's truck is a 95 f 150 with a 302.

Plain and simply it suffers from a serious lack of *****. It runs good (for a new engine ) and burns no oil. Compression is ok. 133K miles.

Now both he and I are used to the hp and more importantly the tq of older (pre 76) 302's and 351W's.

With the mileage that it is getting (12-14) we think that it suffers from a serious lack of ***** as I already said. It is running stock size tires and that mileage is in 2X4, in 4X4 it drops to about 10-12 tops. Now what are a few good mods that will keep the mileage the same or increase it? Because with this mileage it should be putting out about 250whp+ in my opinion.

I have an '83. Last year, with a dead as nuts '69 351W in it, it was getting about 14-16 all day long, no matter 2X4 or 4X4 and it has 33's.

Both trucks have 3.55's. Mine ('83) has a 4 sp, his has a 5. Damn what a difference in gearing. His is geared sooo much higher.

I've heard that the cam is pretty good but the rocker arms are ****, like 1.5's or 1.6's. Will a set of 1.7:1 wake this nutless thing up? Exhaust is in the works, but I doubt that will help as much as we are looking for. How about porting the IM and a larger TB (pair). I am looking for a general increase hp # so i can determine where to start with this thing. What are the cc of the heads? Comp Ratio? And what is the stock cam?

Thanks for any and all info.

Put a cam in it. One fellow on here likes the ford racing m50 ($49.94) or a311 ($69.95) both prices without lifters, lot of people like the comp cam extreme energy line (around $179 with lifters) they are more expensive but also will be designed more for your application. If you wanna wake it up given compression and general running conditon is good then this is it. Call a manufacturer tell them what you have and they will recommend one for you. Don't get much easier, except it will require your time for installation, good luck
