I just bought this 65 F250 truck in February. Discovered it had a 68' 390 in it, a 69' 410 rear end, hydro boost, power steering and a/c as well as 67' hubcaps and tailgate . It was sitting since 2003 I changed belts hoses, fluids and tires among many other things and finally was able to drive it yesterday. I put about 50 miles on it ran well maybe a little warm but the gearbox seems to have a little too much play as everything else seems in good shape any idea on how to id what year gearbox this may be. Thanks

Anodized aluminum grille is 1966 Custom Cab/Ranger // Stainless steel hubcaps are 1967/77 F250/350; 1969/74 E300; 1975/77 E250/350 // 1967/72 F100/350 Styleside tailgate.

Antenna is located in wrong place on right cowl panel, truck may have not come w/a radio.

Has a dual master cylinder swapped in.

Since the 1968/76 F100/350 360 and 390 use the same block and casting number, how do you know it has a 1968 390?

The N indicates it came with an NP435 4 speed. If it's original to the truck it will not have a provision for a back-up light switch. If it was swapped in from a later truck ('67 up) then it will have the switch in the case.
