Went looked at this truck yesterday. It was a little more rough than I originally thought. On the passenger side it has a cab corner gone poorly repaired along with the space in-between the doors which I though was an odd spot for rust. It has a 460 and an automatic that run rather well. It is advertised as a F250 but I has 5 lug wheels. I thought that meant it was a F150? Needs a lot but I runs and drives right now. He is asking $7500. Thoughts?
Run the info on the warranty plate on the lower portion of the drivers door jamb. That will tell you how the cab left the factory. Also check the vin# stamped on the top of the frame near the alternator and match it to the vin# on the warranty plate. Cab may have been moved to another chassis. Or other possibilities! 460's did not come in 4x4 Dentsides from the factory.
No such thing as a 1973/79 F100 or 1975/79 F150 Crew Cab, all are F250/350's and all were assembled in Oakville Ontario Canada.
Only F100/150's and Bronco's have 5 lug wheels, so something smells and it ain't hay!
No 460's with M/T & 4WD until 1983.

No code within the VIN decodes to Crew Cab, neither does the MODEL aka TYPE/GVW code stamped on the Warranty Plate.
If the 3rd digit of the BODY code stamped on the Warranty Plate is D or G = Crew Cab. D is a Crew Cab pickup, G is a Crew Cab Chassis & Cab.
