What I did today I wasn't sure it would work. A friend that still works on big rigs, he's 67, asked the ac guy what he'd do. We changed the orifice tube and recharged and it looked good but the gauges still went a little funny. The clutch fan did click in, but he said it might not be quick enough. But he also said before you do that, check in between the radiator and see how that looks. Well, I didn't think much of this because the other two looked good. I took the brackets off and pried it a part. Can't get much but there was about 1/4 inch what looked like lead wool. Just dirt collection. I used air to blow this off. Don't use water, it will stick. And it now goes down to 52 to 53 degrees out the inside. Before I was lucky to get 68 degrees. I has been hotter last couple days, it's only 70 today so far. So we will see. I used the 38639 orifice tube so I was expecting 40 degrees. So we shall see. My friend wants to redo it at his work on the week end. We used 3 1/2 cans. He said it might be to much. I looked it up and it said 42 oz's. The truck under the hood said 2.8 lbs.So I think we are close. They have the machine to recop and put it in exact. If we do that, I'm going to try the stock orifice tube to see what the difference is. This week and is army, air force party at the legion so Saturday off. And Sunday is fathers day so that's off. Been wanting to drop my tank do do upgrades and haven't had time either. I did notice my new trans has fluid on it to. So got to get that taken care of. Have a good day, and report back as I will.
The Excursion has a new radiator that I installed last year, so I can rule that out, the only thing I can think of is the condensor is clogged internally. Ill find time tomorrow to check it out.
