How quickly is it blowing the fuse ? The fuel pump only runs for a few seconds when you turn the key to RUN. It runs steady once the motor is running. Is it blowing when you just turn the key to RUN ? If there's no shorts in the fuel pump circuit wiring, I would suspect the fuel pump itself. You can get one of those mini-fuse amp draw testers to determine the amps being pulled by the fuel pump.

The fuse melted on our way to Fl. From Atlanta and we replaced the new fuse and it was fine for 5 days but did the same thing on the way home. We replaced the fuse box and the battery light is still coming on saying to check the charging system but it has not died again.

Sounds like two separate issues. With the engine running, what is the voltage across the battery ? Should be 14 volts or so. Is it the original alternator in the Expy?
I would still check the amp draw of the fuel pump for the fuse blowing issue.
