Getting some conflicting torque numbers from my haynes manual, 76 f250 4x4 dana 44hdf Spindle to knuckle nuts ? anyone got that handy..... somewhere between 50-102 !
For my F150 it was 50 while rotating the hub IIRC. I would suspect 102 might be the HD version? One sec and I will check my Ford shop manual. EDIT: 1975 shop manual says 50 for either Dana 44 while rotating the hub then back off 90 degrees. I can't imagine a 76 being any different.

Thanks, but i was talking about the actual nuts that hold the spindle to the knuckle, not the spindle lock and preload nuts.... but your info was consistent with what I found in my book...
I remembered 60 in my head from the old days looking at an early Chilton's book, as well as the Chilton's "big book" for trucks.
Depends on what size the bolts are of course, and there may be variations that Hayne's does not differentiate from (such as the rear bearing retainers having two sizes of bolts, the smaller of which will break with the specified torque!) but if 50-60 seems legit, go for it.
