Identifying front end part
1981 F150 Ranger XLT 4x2 - I can't find this part in any of the parts diagrams/manuals I have. It looks like the sheet m
etal is intended for crash/impact protection. Mine is bent. Just curious if anyone knows the exact name/part number.

It's not the stone deflector or the front air deflector that some of these trucks came with. It appears to be part of the radiator support.

It is not part of the radiator support.
I would call it the front cross member that bolts in.
If you want one that matches that one (bent) I have one LOL
I was lucky my parts truck had one that was not to badly bent so I used it.
If you look closely you can see it is bolted in.
I would look under frame / chassis for the part.

Upper pic: Look how far back the front cross member is from the bumper.
Pic of the part that the OP is referring to appears to be within a few inches of the front bumper.

What is 5C128 in the upper picture?
looks to be a bolt in cross member to me?
It is bolted to the frame not the radiator support.

Get a short 2x4 and a bottle jack and put them under it and see if you can straighten it back good enough to work for now. Someone hooked a tow strap to it and pulled it out of shape. Don't see why you could not bend it back with a little time and effort.

Yes, its a bolt-in crossmember. Found this out when I did my frame swap, my old frame didn't have it.

I have this on my 1986 F150 and it is what the front sway bar connects to. Here is the picture of mine when I was re-painting it.
