The parking brake indicator is always on in my '68 F250. I've been all over that truck and can't seem to locate the switch or it's adjustment. Any hints? Thanks!!
are you sure it's not the brake failure switch that is bad (or actually doing it's job, ie no pressure) ? I do not see any kind of switch around the parking prake lever area.
I would like to have a indication that my parking brake is on, since I drove half way to work with it engaged untill I saw smoke!
Gee, maybe I'm learning something. I'm talking about the indicator that is just above the brake release lever. Is that a faliure indicator? if so, what triggers it?
Is the parking brake light the little red light that is next to the drivers door on the bottom area of the dash? Or am I the only one that has one there? I have a little red lense light with a chrome ring in that location. It's never worked, and is burned out I assume. I thought it might be a brake warning light, but wasn't sure. It almost looked like someone stuck in on as an aftermarket light... I guess I might oughta stick a bulb in it...:/ MK

Missed this one...Yep, thats where mine is also. I never was sure what that was for. I guess I know now...It should be triggered by the valve under the truck. IE: I think there is like rocker switch or whatever. Look for a wire that plugs in on the valve. If you lose fluid on one side, the rocker flips over, trips the switch, and the light goes on. Normally, a proper bleeding will reset it if I remember right. MK
Yup! That's the critter. Mine is just the opposite and has always been on for the last 14 years. The lens says brake. I'm cool with that, and don't know what it's telling me!
