Even if it's a 6.0, the difference in temperature between oil and coolant isn't enough to need a new oil cooler. Are you towing, under heavy load, does it have a crazy tune? Details would be helpful. If you're just cruising along at highway speeds and seeing those temperatures, check the coolant system and fan. No DTCs?
Year make and model of truck always helps in diagnosing problems. But if a 6.0 you need an oil cooler and a flush of the cooling system.
04 f350 did oil cooler in Nov. Injectors, egr, coolant filter only put 2000 miles on it I can drive 15 miles unloaded and temps. Will be 200 eot and 198 ECT but pulling the trailer is were i get higher temps. Maybe the fan clutch is going out.

My mistake I was looking at the trans temp and oil temp and hastily hit reply. Then I read it again and asked for the fan speed.
Why does your tuner say the commanded gear is 6? You only have a 5 speed trans.
It actually is a six speed transmission, it just operates as a five speed. The shift pattern when warm is 1-2-3-5-6, and the shift pattern when cold is 1-2-3-4-6. It holds 4th longer in when cold to aid in warming the engine quicker. The monitor may be smart enough to actually display that.
Can you hear your fan? It should kick on when oil is at 217 degrees, and it is impossible to miss, even at highway speed.

These trucks also have a water pump with a plastic impeller. The impeller can shear off of the water pump hub and, obviously, the pump is unable to circulate coolant properly. Newer pumps have metal impellers.
