2012 6.2L shuts off randomly while driving?
I have a 2012 6.2L that I bought used with 75K miles. I've put about 400 miles on it so far and last weekend I was backing out of my parking space onto our lane and the truck just shut off. No CEL, no rough running, no sputtering, just running fine one minute and dead the next. It started right back up and I went on my way (about a 20 mile round trip). I don't really drive the truck during the week because I have a work vehicle, but I was off today so I took the truck out to pick up some things. During the whole day of driving around town it shut off on my a total of three times-once when I was driving down a county road at about 35 mph-luckily there was no one up my rearend at the time. Again, no CEL or any other sign that anything is wrong and it started right back up without a problem. Is this a common problem with these trucks? Where should I start looking? I remember I had almost the exact same issue with my 2003 7.3L and it was the camshaft position sensor. I replaced mine myself but I think Ford eventually did a recall. I really need to get this figured out because if this were to happen when I'm trying to merge onto the state highway I could get whacked by a tractor trailer...

common .. NO.. never heard of this issue before.. not on a 6.2L
check battery connections... and have the battery LOAD tested.... if power to computer is unstable. it can shut down.

Have a 2011 F350 6.2l with 100,000 miles; never had this issue. Like Chuck says, check the battery and its electrical connections first. Worst case have a desler check for codes; hopefully it’s something simple
