What should I do?
Looking for some advice. I have a 2016 F250 powerstroke that seems to have a leaking problem. In the past 10 months it has been back to the service center 4 times for various leaks. It is currently in for #4. The first was the lower oil pan gasket. Second was the upper pan gasket. 3rd was the torque converter gasket, and this last time is the axle yoke seal at the transmission. My service adviser has stated that in his opinion this year engine gaskets are too small. I don't see anything online that would suggest a systemic issue with this model year PS. I have contacted Ford Customer Service at my service advisers recommendation and am expecting a call from the district manager Monday. My question is what should I expect/demand from Ford? The truck only has 47,000 miles on it so this is all covered under warranty, but I drive 25,000 miles/year so the warranty will be up in 2 years. I am concerned there will be other issues after the warranty has expired. Should I start with drive train replacement and let him talk me down? Should I insist on an extended drive train warranty? Vehicle replacement? I know, that's a little extreme, but I am beginning to smell a lemon. I think the torque inspector the day my engine was built was asleep on the job. Keep in mind these aren't huge leaks, just drips or seepage. But oil/tranny fluid is like blood. It belongs on the inside. I appreciate any advice or personal experiences anyone may have. Thanks!!
being minimum... little or no help will be offered after normal warranty.. broken parts maybe..
Lemon .. no .. 4 different leaks... not just one repeatedly again it a leak..
I get it.. its troublesome.. and the future looks the same..
I did warranty work for the "C" guys.. leaks are part of life...
I have been wrong before.. and will again................Best of Luck....
notice Ford no longer offer Help HERE...
You need a new service advisor. Thegaskets for the 2014, 2015, and 2017 are the same as your 2016 truck’s gaskets.
most likely the lower pan gasket was actually a misdiagnosis, ie the upper gasket leak drips down, making it look like a lower gasket leak.
A transmission or torque converter leak would drip in the same general area.
try a different dealer.
I would let the dealer make the current repair and if it continues to leak then take it to a different dealer. Don't bash the old dealer when talking to the new one but see if they find something different. It sounds like the lemon part is the service department of your dealer. JMO...
