What is the model? maybe I can find one
I believe you just bolt it to the stairs and it rides up and down that track

It has to be taken apart to get in the door and around the corner to the basement. It is an Excel, no model number.

It has to be shortened. The house it was in had 12 steps. Where it is going is only 9 steps.

The second link isn't the same brand but has a lot of needed info. I printed it off and will be using it tomorrow.
Patty couldn't find anything useful. Thanks Don!

I hope so, It looked a lot the same. Getting past the weight is another thing. Not all that easy to throw 300# around.

I would think a lot of the weight is the batteries.. I would remove them first

There are 2 12V dry batteries about the size in a motorcycle. They're easy to get out with no tools. I can't imagine they weigh that much.

First thing, the stairs have to be measured and the track has to be disassembled and cut to length. Once we're past that it should be a piece of cake.
At that point it should be short enough to get around the doorway and down the stairs.

The guys who install them are not the brightest bulbs on the circuit so you should be able to handle it... LOL

Being Joe is half assed, that may be the problem. Patty's dad was a machinest with the BN Railroad for 38 years. He'll make sure its right.
